Abstract
This study was measured to observe the change of the enzyme activities in some organs of the rats by feeding glucose and sucrose diet. The rats used for the experiment were adult male albino rats from a pure strain, weighing 285-332g. They were divided into the standard, the glucose and the sucrose diet group. The glucose and the sucrose diet groups were redivided into 10%, 25% and 40% diet groups. The alkaline phosphatase, Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (GPT) and Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (GOT) activities of their liver and serum were measured after feeding with the corresponding diet respectively for the 4 months.
The results obtained are summarized as follows:
1. The alkaline phosphatase activities in the liver were increased by feeding 25% glucose die and 25%, 40% sucrose diet, compared with the standard diet group, but the activities were decreased by feeding 40% glucose diet and 10% sucrose diet.
2. The GPT and GOT activities in the liver were increased by feeding 25% and 40% sucrose diet, com pared with standard diet group, but the activities of the other diet groups were decreased.
3. The alkaline phosphatase activities in the serum were different with the changing tendency of the liver enzyme activities in other diet groups.
